About AZNPF

The AZNPF was established in 1995 and has a growing number of members: care receivers, care givers, friends and just plain interested persons. The all volunteer board of directors sponsors a variety of activities and events, including an annual meeting and monthly support groups, where members learn the latest news in research and political activities and exchange views with others.

The Chapter holds its annual meeting for the membership in the month of November. Each year we have a variety of interesting speakers, vendor booths, refreshments and a musical performance by the Tremble Clefs.

The Chapter has established a variety of committees to help achieve its mission. Members are encouraged to become involved through volunteering their time to one of the following worthwhile activities. Committees

• Education - Research, review and maintain information related to educating the Parkinson’s community regarding ongoing research, health and wellness, and the daily living of people with Parkinson’s.
• Finance - Plan annual budgets, review of proposals for fundraisers from Fundraising Committee Chair, and monitor actual to budget financials and make recommendations to Board to aid in fiscal responsibility.
• Fundraising - Plan events to raise funds in order to help meet the expenses of the Chapter, provide funds to assist the Arizona Parkinson’s Support Groups, and provide a funding resource for Chapter research grants.
• Membership & Volunteers - Encourage and maintain Chapter membership as well as recruit volunteers to help with special and fundraising events.
• Public Relations - Promote the Chapter through all means of media to bring an awareness of the existence and functions of the Chapter to the community.
• Shelley Anderson Research Fund - Conduct annual process of selecting recipient of grant funds for individuals in the field of research for helping people with Parkinson’s.
